5 Proven Ways to Reduce Hair Fall

1. Fix the scalp before the strands

Most hair fall starts at the follicle, not the length. Build-up from oil, sweat, dry shampoo and hard water blocks follicles and weakens new growth.

Exfoliate the scalp once a week with a salon scalp scrub or a clarifying shampoo, and get a professional scalp detox every 4–6 weeks.

2. Protein, iron and vitamin D

Hair is keratin — a protein. Low protein, low iron (very common) and low vitamin D are the three deficiencies behind most diffuse shedding in India.

Aim for a protein source at every meal, add iron-rich foods with vitamin C for absorption, and get 15 minutes of morning sun. If shedding is severe, ask your doctor for a ferritin and vitamin D test.

3. Stop the mechanical damage

Tight ponytails, buns and braids cause traction hair fall along the hairline. Rotate hairstyles and keep them loose.

Never brush hair when soaking wet — use a wide-tooth comb from ends upward. Swap terry towels for microfibre and satin pillowcases for cotton.

4. Reduce heat and harsh chemicals

Blow-drying on high heat daily and repeated bleaching weaken the shaft until it snaps mid-length — which looks exactly like hair fall.

Always use a heat protectant, keep tools under 180°C, and space out chemical services by at least 8–10 weeks.

5. In-salon treatments that help

Anti-hair-fall scalp therapy: targeted ampoules and massage to improve circulation and follicle health.

Hair spa: monthly conditioning that reduces breakage-driven shedding.

Professional consultation: our stylists check density, scalp condition and breakage pattern before recommending anything.

When to see a doctor

Sudden patchy loss, a widening parting, visible scalp, or shedding that lasts more than three months needs a dermatologist. Salon care supports treatment — it doesn't replace it.
