What keratin treatment actually does
Keratin coats and seals the hair shaft, relaxing the curl pattern and creating a smooth, glossy finish that survives humidity.
Best for: heavy frizz, coarse or wavy hair, anyone who blow-dries daily and wants to stop. Typically lasts 3–5 months.
What hair botox actually does
Despite the name there's no injection. Hair botox is a deep conditioning filler — proteins and amino acids that fill in damaged, porous sections of the shaft.
Best for: damaged, over-processed, dull or bleached hair that needs repair and shine rather than straightening. Lasts 2–3 months.
Side-by-side
Straightening effect: keratin is significant; botox is mild.
Repair effect: botox is significant; keratin is moderate.
Longevity: keratin 3–5 months; botox 2–3 months.
Best hair type: keratin for thick and frizzy; botox for damaged and fine.
Aftercare that protects your investment
Use a sulphate-free and salt-free shampoo — sulphates strip both treatments fast.
Wait 48–72 hours after keratin before washing or tying hair up.
Avoid chlorine and sea water, or wet hair with plain water and apply conditioner before swimming.
Book a hair spa every 4–6 weeks to extend results.
Which should you book at Hair Majesty?
If your daily struggle is frizz and time spent straightening, choose keratin. If your hair feels rough, snaps easily or looks dull after bleaching, choose botox.
Not sure? Our senior stylists do a free strand and porosity check in-salon and recommend the right one — including doing neither if your hair needs repair time first.
